GCVS 4th Edition as of 19-May-2005
Robert B. Denny <rdenny@dc3.com>

For more info, install the catalog as instructed below, then use the "I" icon on the right side of the Options pane in Starry Night to display the catalog info.

INSTALLING
----------

1. Remove any old GCVS catalog(s) you may have installed into the Sky Data folder. It may be named Variable Stars (GCVS) so look carefully! Also look for the old Sky Data\Text Descriptions\Variable Stars (GCVS).txt file and remove it as well.

2. Put GCVS.ssd into Starry Night's Sky Data folder

3. Put GCVS.txt into Starry Night's SkyData\Text Descriptions folder

4. The other files describe various abbreviations, notes, and codes used in the catalog, and may be put anywhere convenient for you.

5. Start Starry Night, open the Options tab, expand the Stars area, and click the "i" icon to the right of the new GCVS catalog listing. This will display the descriptive info on this catalog.

NOTE: The information in the Info tab, Description pane is wrong. This is a known issue resulting from my use of non-star/icon plotting. In order to overcome this issue, I'll need to create my own icons. I ran out of time... Just close the Description pane and forget it for now.
